We are delighted to welcome you to the website of the Showroom of Ecclesiastical Heirlooms "Oxia Episkepsis" ("Acute Visitation"), of the Holy Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary at Makrinitsa.
This Showroom is a contemporary museum space, the first in the history of our local Church, created to preserve with the most technologically advanced means and to promote the most important ecclesiastical heirlooms of the historic Pelion village of Makrinitsa.
This website is expected to be for the web users the "gateway" which would usher them to this hospitable museum space, would provide them with the necessary information for its operation and, mainly, "endow" them a first acquaintance with the wealth of its rare and valuable ecclesiastical heirlooms, inter alia, the marble sculpture of the Virgin of the Oxia Episkepsis (Acute Visitation), the icons of the famous folk painter Theophilos, other sacred icons, sacred utensils and vestments, banners, epitaphs, wood sculptures, ecclesiastical books and more.
We wish, finally, that the Museum's web visitor, fascinated for sure from this first virtual contact with the exquisite exhibits, which constitute expressions of a long spiritual and cultural tradition of our country, would soon also want to become an "in person" traveler, leading his steps to the famous for its history and natural beauties Makrinitsa of Pelion and the Ecclesiastical Showroom of "Oxia Episkepsis".
